Angela

I used to be the number two person in a medium sized company. I have helped the company grow, and I used my expertise in making the operation efficient. After having given myself entirely to the company, I was told to retire because the company had run into financial trouble.

The only thing I knew what to do was to get back to the labor market. Unfortunately my age was my biggest impediment since no one would wish to hire anyone who is 50 years old and above. A few months later, (because no company would like to hire my services) with my retirement funds, I purchased existing businesses. I have worked and slaved until the evening for the last 6 months just to find out that the business I have purchased was a wrong decision on my part since the former owners put up a small capital made the business run for a month or so and sold it for a profit. After they have sold it to a person who does not know anything, they put up the same business and then competed with the person they have sold the business to. Moreso, I got involved with fictitious people in the trading business and swindled from me a huge amount of money and personal property. I felt very frustrated and cheated with what these people had done to me. The next and only thing I knew to recover my losses is get back to employment. I have read a lot about angel stories and miracles. I really do believe in them because I am a devout Catholic. I told myself how come I have not seen any angel in my life. I really envy a lot of people who directly was helped by an angel.

Now, here comes my story.

After having made a good resume' about my job experiences, I started sending my resume' to the headhunters via the internet. The following day a lady headhunter called me and interviewed me over the phone. After the phone interview, she wanted to see me personally just to confirm who I am. She told me that there were quite a number of applicants who submitted their resume'. I have estimated there were between 30-50 applicants and the good news is, only six of us were shortlisted. A few days afterwards, she requested me to go see the principal/employer in a hotel room for the initial job interview. She later on during the day informed me that the principal liked me very much for the job. After the initial job interview, I was told that the competition for the position is now down to three persons. She later on informed the three of us to take an assessment test the following day.

I took the test the following day, and boy, it took me 5.5 hours to finish the examination. I know I did very poorly because the last time I had a similar test was more than two decades ago. I prayed and prayed unceasingly so that I may be included in the final interview. A few days later, I was informed that the Board of Directors would like me to see them in the factory for a final interview. I really thanked God that I was one of the candidates for the final interview. I wasn't sure if I did fairly well in the final interview. I asked my headhunter to tell me frankly and honestly about my overall assessment. She told me to wait and the Board shall choose a candidate for the position in a few days.

I waited and waited, I prayed and prayed and fasted for 1.5 days and believed.

The day came when I was told that I am the person chosen by the Board of Directors for the position of General Manager. Coming to think of it, I kept on calling my headhunter by her nickname. When I pulled out her business card, little did I realize that her name was ANGELA - a lady angel. I was very happy that an angel in the form of a human being helped me all along the way. You see, I was directly helped by an angel and this is the best miracle I have ever received during the 50th year of my existence on earth.

Before I end, I want to share this short message from our Blessed Mother Mary to all of you out there: "DO NOT FORGET THAT YOUR LIFE DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU, BUT IS A GIFT WITH WHICH YOU MUST BRING JOY TO OTHERS AND LEAD THEM TO ETERNAL LIFE." (Medjugore December 25, 1992).
